Vegetable-Tanned High Pile - Long Hair - Sheepskin Rug

Soft and comfy, sheepskin fibers impart warmth and comfort. It makes a great playroom rug (not suitable for babies due to the high pile). These sheepskins are soft, luxurious and feel great under your feet. Dry clean is the suggested method for cleaning, but we have found that natural cleaning methods for washing wool produces suitable results.
Our sheepskins are sourced from US sheep and are tanned in the US using tree bark extracts from Argentina. This is one of the oldest methods of tanning. This method takes a bit longer (three days to fully absorb) but is necessary for a natural product free of any heavy metals (the current standard is to tan skins using the chrome method which uses heavy metals). The vegetable tanning method has been used for centuries to create the natural blanket typically used under saddles.
